Jacqueline Elizabeth Bradley

March 12, 1931 – March 31, 2021

Jacqueline Elizabeth “Libby” Bradley, 90, of Ashland, Virginia passed away on March 31, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Alan Bradley. She grew up in Huntington, West Virginia and attended John Marshall College. Later, she transferred and graduated from West Virginia University, where she met Greg. They were married for 65 years. Libby started her career at the American Red Cross in Rhode Island. She coordinated many recreational activities for her husband’s army unit during his active duty. Later, her career led her to work as a recreational therapist at Westbrook Psychiatric Hospital in Richmond for 20 years. She later became the activities director at The Hanover Manor, caring for many residents. She was compassionate about volunteering throughout her life, while raising four children and working full time. She was a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church where she led the youth group, coordinated church picnics and sang for many years in their choir. She loved her community and participated in many activities, including being passionate about theatre, volunteering behind the scenes at Barksdale Dinner Theatre. She is remembered by her family for her faith, kindness, and loving spirit. She is survived by her children; Patty Rogers, John Bradley (Sherrie), Bill Bradley (Michelle) and Ann Ballance (Stan); grandchildren, Jesse and Michael Bradley, Ryan Ballance (Megan), Shannan Lowe (Cody), Brad and Jon Rogers, and Jack and Elizabeth Bradley.  A memorial service for Libby and Greg will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Duncan Memorial UMC. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church or the Dementia Society of America.
