Alice Napier Boyd
December 16, 1953 – December 20, 2021
Alice Napier Boyd, 68, of Doswell, VA went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, T.R. “Butch” Napier.
Alice is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 48 years, David Boyd; her sons, Jon (Kerri) and Steven (Staci) and grandchildren Austin, Micah, Cassie, Luke, and Peyton and great granddaughter, Realynn Alice. She is also survived by her mother, Phyllis Napier; sister Rose Sherman (Bob); brothers, Dennis and Wade Napier as well as many beloved nieces and nephews; especially Vickie Belding (Todd) and Stacey Hornsby (Josh) who lovingly cared for her.
Alice was a longtime member of Ashland Church of God, after being saved at the age of 12. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, wonderful Nana, daughter, sister, and friend to all. She never met a stranger. Alice was an avid gardener and homesteader and enjoyed sharing the bounty from her garden. She loved taking trips with her family, walking the beaches, and just being outdoors.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on January 8, 2022 at Ashland Church of God. A memorial service will immediately follow. Interment will be private.
I will miss you dearly…..your journey came to an end after a long battle with cancer, you are now free of sickness and in the arms of Jesus along with those who went before you…….I will always have precious memories of you. Love Aunt Betty
Deepest condolences to family and friends of this lovely lady and beautiful soul. May she rest in peace.
Alice was a good friend of mine. I remember going to high school and church with Alice. I remember all of her loving family and her boys. She has been in my thoughts and prayers recently. Now I will remember the family when I Pray. I know it is difficult to lose family members. But we all know she is in heaven and happy and healthy again. Someday in the near future hopefully we will all be reunited again. God bless her entire family.

Alice first came into my life as the aunt of my best friend (Stephanie) and then as my sister in law 7 yrs later. I have so many memories from the last 37 years but my most favorites are the Napier Christmases at her house every Christmas Eve, where she was always the center or attention (just the way she liked it). She will be missed here but we know she is now with her Lord so take comfort in that. Until we meet again….
I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Alice and I were in the same senior class at Patrick Henry High School. I worked with Alice and her sister Rose in the Accounts Payable Department in the mid-70s. I saw Alice several years ago in Walmart, I think and she was her usual charming self and we talked awhile. I did not realize it would be my last conversation with her. I am so sorry for your loss, yet I am certain that she is with the Lord. Take comfort in knowing that she is in heaven and no longer suffering. May God bless you all in the days ahead, as I know she will be truly missed. My deepest condolences to the family.
