Alma G. Kelly

Alma Griffin Kelly, 89, of Midlothian, VA passed away surrounded by the love of her family on August 8, 2023.
Alma was born May 21, 1934, in Norwood, MA. She was the oldest of six children. After receiving her Bachelors in Elementary Education from UMass Amherst in 1957 she taught 3rd and 4th grade in Waltham, MA. She was an active member of her church, Pi Beta Phi, and volunteered in her community and school. “Alma Dear” was the beloved wife of Ronald for 65 years. They enjoyed their retirement years living in Palmyra, VA, and Venice, FL spending time with family and friends. “Grammy” was a great cook, avid reader, and gardener.
Alma is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Kelly; children Glenn Kelly (Sharon), Lisa Thompson (Jeff), and Pam McRae (Mike); siblings Paul Griffin (Nancy) and Judy Palmer; grandchildren Tyler, Nicole, Owen, and KellyAnne; and great-granddaughter Olivia.
There will be a Celebration of Life on September 2, 2023, at 3 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church 901 S Providence Rd. Richmond, VA 23236.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Providence UMC in Alma’s memory.
She was such a blessing to so many people and will missed.
