In Loving
Memory

Alvin Elroy “Gebo” Winston

June 18, 1956 – December 25, 2022

Alvin Elroy “Gebo” Winston, 66, of Glen Allen departed this life on Sunday, December 25 2022.

Alvin attended Virginia Randolph Elementary School and Brookland Middle School. Alvin continued his education by obtaining his certification as an auto mechanic at Henrico Trade School. Alvin was the mechanic to anyone that knew him. Brakes were his specialty.  He could put brakes on with his eyes closed. His biggest passion was watching NRHA races, and he dreamed of one day driving a pro stock car in a race.

He was preceded in death by his parents, WIlliam H. Winston and Laura B. Winston; his brother, Larry E. Winston; and his two sisters, Genevieve P. Winston and Josephine E. Lewis.
Alvin leaves to cherish his memory his only son, Alvin Lamont Wyatt (Tasha Drayton); one sister, Judith C. Arthur; one brother, Wayne L. Winston; his nieces, Vanessa Lewis, Angela Porter (Chris), Jacqueline Shipp, Jescika Winston, Tammie Ellis; his nephews, Vincent Lewis (Cher), Shannon Lewis, Shawn Starke (Jolanda), Antonio Starke (Peggy);  ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; many great nieces and nephews and one who was devoted, Rj Shipp, who he lovingly called Snowman.
Alvin wasn’t afraid of anything and never met a stranger. He had many friends and family that will miss him dearly. Joe Dyer and Jim Little were two of his closest friends.
A memorial service, only fitting for Alvin, will be at a later date. The interment will be private
When I come to the end of the road

And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that once we shared
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It’s all part of the master plan
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know.
Laugh at all the things we used to do
Miss me, but let me go (Let Me Go By: Christina Rossetti)
