Alvin Elroy “Gebo” Winston
June 18, 1956 – December 25, 2022
Alvin Elroy “Gebo” Winston, 66, of Glen Allen departed this life on Sunday, December 25 2022.
Alvin attended Virginia Randolph Elementary School and Brookland Middle School. Alvin continued his education by obtaining his certification as an auto mechanic at Henrico Trade School. Alvin was the mechanic to anyone that knew him. Brakes were his specialty. He could put brakes on with his eyes closed. His biggest passion was watching NRHA races, and he dreamed of one day driving a pro stock car in a race.
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that once we shared
Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It’s all part of the master plan
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know.
Laugh at all the things we used to do
Miss me, but let me go (Let Me Go By: Christina Rossetti)
Love you dad rest up mane.
You said you were going to do it your way and that is how you did it. RIP big brother. I’ll miss you.
Alvin was always kind to me ( your whole family was) I felt like a part of the family until I moved away. Now I just keep everyone alive in fond memories! I love you ALL!
You were a great friend to our family. We will miss the phone calls and laughs. We’re blessed to have great memories of our time spent together. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. RIP Chipmunk. You will truly be missed.
If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I can still hear you say Hey Bootie Rat and tickle me with that finger worm. I still hate that worm lol.. Our bond was different. Our closeness can’t be described. You were my Uncle but more like my dad. I love you Uncle Bootie. Snowman says he loves you too. Mission complete…
