Obituary message

Alyse Lenz, 89 of Chester, Virginia passed away of natural causes on July 26, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital. Alyse was born in Merced, California, adored the San Francisco Bay area where she was raised and often spoke of it with great love. She lived in many places as the devoted wife of her husband, David, who was a United States Air Force Major. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David “Dad” Lenz, her parents, and sisters Mary Tracey and Patricia.

Alyse was a caring, devoted, wonderful and talented mother, gardener, cook and lover of nature and animals, especially her precious dogs! She was an artist/painter and craftswoman extraordinaire. She was an amazingly caring person, volunteering at a hospital, a crisis hotline and teaching English as a second language to her beloved students. The family would like to thank the St. Francis staff for caring so well for Mom in her last days.

Left to cherish and honor her memories are daughters, Paulette Amory and Dineen Fender, son, David Lenz, grandchildren Ross and Darin Amory, Kelly Miller, Lauren Streagle and Monty Fender, and sons-in-law Mike Fender and Jeff Amory. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren Keagan, Katrina and Koen. Her loving puppy dogs, Clyde and Bounce will miss her terribly.
