April 22, 1977 – March 14, 2021
Andrew Gordon Higgins, 43, of Richmond passed from this life after a short illness at Memorial Regional Hospital on March 14, 2021 with his immediate family at his side.
Andy, born April 22, 1977, is survived by his parents, Sandi and Ken Higgins of Mechanicsville, his brother Matt (sister-in-law Dana and niece Gwen) of Evansville, IN, and aunts and uncles in SC (Claudine and Bill Neville of Mt. Pleasant) and VA (Pat Higgins of Staunton, and Ed and Gale Higgins of Culpeper).
He was a graduate of Monacan High School and James Madison University. At those schools his art work progressed from pencil/ink/pastel sketches, oil painting, pottery, stained glass, and jewelry to finally centering on computer graphics. In high school he was a member of the show choir, the varsity football team and the Bon Air Baptist youth bell and voice choirs. He liked fishing, golf, guitar playing and singing, but his passion was art, and he worked as a graphic artist at several companies in the Richmond area.
A memorial service (masks required) is planned for 2:00 pm on June 2, 2021 at Cool Spring Baptist Church, 9283 Atlee Station Rd., Mechanicsville, VA. Memorial gifts may be sent to Library Fund, Cool Spring Baptist Church, PO Box 1630, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.

Andy was truly one of the most kind people I have ever met and probably will ever meet I had the honor and privilege to call him a close friend for many years!! I will always treasure the memories of him !! You are forever loved and remembered my Man!!!

It was an honor to call Andy a friend. He never had a bad thing to say ever and was always kind to everyone.. a genuinely kind and amazingly talented guy..He will be greatly missed
