Andrews Mensah Quarshie
April 14, 1954 – April 15, 2022
Andrews Mensah Quarshie, 68, of Glen Allen was called home to the Lord on April 15, 2022, with his beloved family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.
Uncle Andy, as he was affectionately known by his family and many friends, was compassionate, loving, and generous to a fault. He was a force for good in this world and showed his love not only through words but also through his actions. Andy loved to help others. His family, friends and colleagues all knew that they could count on him to be by their side in times of need. He was a fun-loving and engaged dad who was dedicated to his family. Saturday mornings will never be the same without his fluffy pancakes and dad jokes.
Andy’s greatest joy was serving the Lord. He was a holy spirit filled, born-again Christian and delighted in the Word of God. He founded the Worship Temple Ministry, later named Harvest Souls Outreach Church, in La, Ghana where he mentored young people and brought many to Christ. He was also a founding member of the International Central Gospel Church, Richmond, VA branch. All who knew him loved him and heralded him to be a prayer warrior.
Andy was the chief engineer at the Marriott Residence Inn where he selflessly used his talents to advance the careers of many in the hospitality industry. He was well known for his exceptional work ethic. He brought a unique blend of expertise, passion, and integrity to his work. A true master of all trades, he exemplified the highest standard of quality.
Andy leaves to cherish and honor his memory a loving and devoted wife, Mabel Gyambiby Quarshie; loving children Nii Yemo Quarshie, Nii Laryea Quarshie, Yemoteley Quarshie, Emmanuel Quarshie, Nana Ekua Amanfu, and Kojo Amanfu; siblings, Vincent Odoi Quarshie, Hawawu Quarshie, Tetteh Quarshie, Samuel Anum Quarshie, Benjamin Quarshie, and Jonathan Quarshie; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and many people for whom he was a father figure.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Friday, April 29 at Affinity Funeral Service – Richmond Chapel, 2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 30 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens.
Following the interment, a Celebration of Life will be from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at The Cultural Arts Center, 2880 Mountain Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

Uncle Andy, your beautiful giving caring spirit will always live among us. As a child, it was pure joy getting to see you around the neighborhood with that big teddy bear love which always made me feel safe and loved. I remember intentionally riding into the cul-de-sac just to see if you were outside fixing something or cutting the grass and waving to you as I rode past..pure love. My heart is with you the family now and forever more..
I am at a loss for words. I know there is nothing for me to say that will make your loss easier but know that I am sending you my love and support.
