
Anita F. Crump Lynn
April 17, 1955 – February 2, 2022
Anita F. Crump Lynn entered eternal peace on February 2, 2022, as the Spirit of the Lord beckoned her home to her final resting place. Anita was born in Richmond, VA to the late Samuel W. and Willie Birthel Crump, April 17, 1955. She grew up and was educated in New Kent County, VA. Where she graduated from New Kent High School. She attended Thomas Nelson Community College.
Anita loved to worship at home and at several churches, especially her home church, New Elam Baptist Church in New Kent, Faith Temple COGIC in Hampton, where she served on the adult choir, and St. Paul United Holy Church of America, Inc, where she served in the adult choir and nurses ministry. She last attended New Beginnings Outreach Center Church of God in Newport News, VA. She believed in connecting to God wherever she resided. She served with a willing heart of servanthood.
Anita’s hobbies were traveling, reading and sewing. She was a gifted and devoted teacher’s assistant and a data entry clerk in the Richmond Public School System. She enjoyed working at the Norfolk Police Department as a non-emergency employee, Langley Air Force Base as an office assistant, and Verizon as a sales consultant.
In addition to Anita’s parents, Samuel W. and Willie Birthel Crump, she was proceeded in death by her spouse of 20 years, James T. Lynn, Sr.
Anita is survived by her sons, James T. Lynn, Jr. and Brandon Mayfield-Crump (Javon); sisters, Phyllis C. Burrell, Sandra C. Tatum, Willie C. Anderson (Ernest); brothers, Elton I. Sr., S. LaMont, and Anthony M. Crump; an aunt, Hazel Tyler of Roxbury, MA; special uncle, Clarence Hogan, of Roxbury, MA; 8 nephews; 6 nieces; 9 great-nephews; 11 great-nieces; 5 great-great nephews; many cousins; God sons and God daughters; an enormous number of relatives and friends. Acknowledgements to a special friend Marlene Williams; a special sister, Zelnora Holt of Hampton; a special daughter, Che’Nita Lasley of Saudi Arabia.
Committal by Superintendent Sherman Watkins, of New Beginnings Outreach Center Church of God, Newport News, VA. Funeral Services rendered by Affinity Funeral Service, Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, VA. Interment will be Friday, February 18, 2022 in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, VA beside her love, James Turner Lynn, Sr.

I was privileged to meet and get to know Anita. She had a Beautiful soul. I will continue to hold on to her spirit and love her son as if he were my own. Rest easy Anita 🙏🏾

I thank the Lord that Ms. Anita shared her time with family and friends at my home Christmas 2021. She was so much fun, a happy personality and such a joy to be around. As we lit candles and sang praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Ms Anita lifted her voice expressing her love and compassion for the Lord with biggest smile ever. She was always close to us, that we felt like she was a part of our family. She was a gem, and will be greatly missed. And to the family, “May God’s repeated Blessings be yours”!
Words can never express how much you mean to me, my wife, my siblings, and my mother. You have been and always will be an important part of our lives, and we will cherish our memories shared with you forever. I love you godmommy. Rest peacefully in His arms.
I will always remember your kindness and your smile. As kids my brother (Khylief) and I loved visting you, Brandon, and Lj. Thank you for all you did for us. May you rest in paradise xoxoxo!

You were a bright shining light with a witty humor and charm to all who knew you. Although I did not meet you until my adult years, I am so grateful God saw fit for me to meet such a lovely human being who happened to be my cousin. You will surely be missed and we appreciate all the wonderful memories you have left us.
