Anne Marie Dreyer (Link), daughter of George and Catherine Link of Queens, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at her son Mark and Beverly’s home in Mechanicsville, VA.  Born July 8, 1928 in Queens, NY, she spent her early years in Queens, and Long Island, NY, later moving to Fairfield, CT to raise her family.  Anne is preceded in death by her parents and her only sister, Florence Hopper (NY); and her husband, John D. Dreyer, who died in 2002. She is survived by four adult children, Jo-Ann Brictson, John G. Dreyer (MD), Iris Cox (VA), and Mark Dreyer (VA); also 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; and three faithful doggy companions, Bryce, Bindi, and Reese.

Anne was passionate about her nursing career and her Lutheran faith, especially her church family at Holy Cross Lutheran (Trumbull, CT) and more recently Trinity Lutheran (Glen Allen, VA). where she served in many capacities.  She was an avid reader and storyteller and enjoyed all forms of handwork, needlework, puzzles, and playing the piano.  She would have loved to travel the world if her health had permitted it.  We will miss her warmth and laughter every day!

I was so very sorry to hear of Anne’s passing. She was a dear friend and worked with and supported me in Holy Cross’s Parish nurse program.

we kept in touch for a few years after she moved and always enjoyed our conversations .

She was a faithful friend and loved being near her family.

My sympathy and prayers to all who loved and cared for her.

She is with John and in God’s loving care. Sincerely, Gretchen Sather

Anne was a delightful person to know and work with. She loved to laugh with you. I missed her when she could not get to church. Love goes with this note. Sandra
