Barbara Ann Parker, 78, of Chesterfield, Virginia, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2021, at The Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute at Johnston Willis Hospital after a long battle with Leukemia. My warmest regards go out to Hospice of Virginia and her attending physician Dr. Yuvraj Choudhary.
Survivors include her only child Jody Wright and her spouse Ricky, her adored granddaughter Haleigh Cottrell, and her wife Chloe of Chattanooga TN, nephew Charles Paul Nicklis, Jr. of Wake Forest, NC. A sister-in-law Judy Callahan Tomlin and two stepdaughters Sherry and Roberta of New Jersey.
She was preceded in death by her beloved “Bob” Robert Newton Parker, Jr, her father “Charlie” Nicklis, her mother “Gertie” Gertrude Seay Nicklis, her brother Charles Paul Nicklis, Sr. and her sister-in-law Mary Beth Nicklis, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at Affinity Funeral Home located at 8074 Mechanicsville Tnpk Mechanicsville, Virginia 23111 on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Visitation will begin promptly at 2:00 P.M. with the memorial service from 3 to 4 P.M. with the Rev: Robert Thompson officiating. Interment will be private.
Jody, Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear of your loss. I will mostly remember her kind and outgoing spirit. While I share in your sorrow, I pray that the family will find some peace and comfort in knowing that while she is missed she is now at peace. God Bless.
