Bertha Beatrice Jones

July 14, 1949 – August 21, 2022

Bertha Beatrice Jones, fondly known as “Bert” of Richmond, VA, slipped away peacefully on August 21, 2022, to be with her Heavenly Father. Bert was born on July 14, 1949, to the late Annie Hampton Jones and Henry W. Jones, Sr. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Catherine “Buddy” Brown and Gloria Pugh.

Bertha leaves the following to cherish her memory, son, C.L. Jones; sisters, Iva Johnson (Rev. James H. Johnson, Jr.) and Jeanette Jones; brother, Henry W. Jones, Jr. (Evangelist Melissa Jones); aunt, Hilda Cotman; uncle, Oliver Hampton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Affinity Funeral Service – Mechanicsville Chapel, 8074 Mechanicsville, VA 23111. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests charitable donations be made to Faith Community Baptist Church, 1903 Cool Lane, Richmond, VA 23223.

    Sisters share such a special bond it’s impossible to describe. Sisters go through life together as a team..helping and supporting one another…Sisters never give up on one another no matter what… I LOVE YOU SISSY REST WELL…Missing you so much…❤❤❤

    We are truly grateful that we were able to visit with Aunt Bert before her departure. Prayers of comfort for her friends and family, for I know she will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
