In Loving

Bertha M. Roberts

Aug. 25, 1955 – May 8, 2019

Bertha passed away suddenly Wednesday May 8, 2019 at Memorial Regional Hospital due to a heart attack secondary to emergency surgery.

She was born August 25, 1955 to the loving parents Loustine and Sallie Sherrod at MCV in Richmond, Va. She had two sons Nathaniel and Ricky Bullock but took in a host of other children as her own. Throughout her lifetime she took care of both of her parents and others when she could. This lady was the type of person that would give you the shirt off of her own self just to make sure you would want not. Whatever you asked of her she would try to the best of her abilities to make it happen. She was always pleasant in spirit and had such an uplifting personality. She was one of a kind.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Bullock; step-son Thomas (Pooh Bear) Bullock Jr.; brother Benjamin (Benny) Austin; and sister Sandra Watson. She leaves to cherish her loving memory mother, Sallie Sherrod; father Loustine Sherrod Sr.; son Nathaniel (Tony) Bullock; son Ricky (Titto) Bullock; grandchildren Shawn, Shayla, Destini, Brianna, Arianna, Malik Wiggins, Lamar McWilliams, Tavaris McWilliams, Briyonna Taylor, Ricky Bullock Jr., Christopher Robinson, Ayionna Harris and Kinston Harris; brother Louistine Sherrod Jr.; sister Lois Caroline Triemu; sister Gloria Wilson; nieces Sonya Austin, Angela Austin, Joy Sherrod, Jessica (Dee)Wilson, Andrea (Tweety Bird) Hartridge, Felisa Triemu, Stacy Wilson; nephews William Austin, Brandon Sherrod, Louistine (Moo Moo) Penn; and great-nieces and nephews that she treated as her own, Dajon Austin, Rashad Hartridge Jr., and TiAmore Hartridge who she called her partner in crime; and a whole host of additional family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 16 at Affinity Funeral Service.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, May 17 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
