Obituary message
After a long, hard fought battle with cancer, Brian Eugene Johnson, 71, of Sandston, VA went to his final resting place on March 27, 2018. Born in Salem, OR, Brian called Richmond his home for the last 50 years. Brian was extremely proud of being a Vietnam War Veteran, graduate of VCU, supporting his kids and grandkids in all of their endeavors and ultimately retiring from the RMTA. Brian is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carol Simpson Johnson; step-mother, Norma Johnson; mother-in-law, Martha Simpson; daughter, Kimberly Hannon (James Hannon); son, Eric Johnson (Corinne Johnson); sisters, Elizabeth and Eleanor; brother, Alan; grandchildren, Gavin, Carrington and Taylin (all of which he absolutely adored); dog, Luna; and many more family and friends throughout the country. A celebration of life ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Varina Episcopal Church.
Rest in peace in Heaven!!!
You taught me so much as I started my career with the RMTA. I will cherish your words of wisdom, sarcasm, assistance with your “ traffic control†and your visits after retirement. Until we meet again, Rest In Peace.
I pray that God will bring you peace during this difficult time. I will miss Brian. I loved his smile and his go get them attitude. May you remember all the special moments you all had with him during his active life.
Thank you for the time, considerations, and conversations. Brian you are surely missed. I pray that Carol, family, and friends, will be comforted during this difficult time.
