Brian Scott Gent
October 31, 1981 – July 17, 2023
Brian Scott Gent of Richmond, VA passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was 41.
He loved the James River, the Swift Creek Reservoir, or any other body of water on which he could fish, boat, kayak, or swim. Brian loved all kinds of music and played the keyboard in the band Grapefruit Fred. He was an accomplished photographer, and woodworker, and was a force to be reckoned with, at billiards.
Brian graduated from Clover Hill High School with honors and received a B. S. from ECPI in Computer Science. He built and maintained the website for Advanced Auto USA, until his untimely passing.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Linda Walker (Sam); father, Dr. Peter Gent (Marian); brother, Mr. Justin Gent (Jenny); step-sister, Ms. Sarah Werner-Ellis (Brad); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294. The family visitation will start at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Richmond SPCA or St. Mary’s Hospital Palliative Care.
