He was born February 15, 1961, to the late Charles and Georgia Beckett in Englewood, NJ. Charles was a very talented Basketball player and loved it so much he spent most of his spare time traveling throughout the City of New York and the surrounding counties of Englewood, New Jersey to play ball and was well known locally on many courts by the name Generator.
He had a passion for comedy and making people laugh, especially on the basketball court where “Generator” always had an extremely high energy level and was known for his wild, entertaining, comical basketball moves, animated voices, and facial expressions.
In 1985 Charles married Roberta Dixon and moved to New York, NY. In 2005 he, his wife, daughter, and stepdaughter moved to Virginia where he continued to do what he loved and played basketball on courts throughout Richmond, Chesterfield, and Henrico County, Virginia.
Charles was a compassionate husband and a protective father, and he always tried his best to provide for his family. He was an amazing cook and enjoyed movies, music, singing, and drawing, and was very knowledgeable in wildlife because he loved and valued all life in itself.
He also was a dedicated and God-fearing man; he loved the truth and the word of God. He was filled with empathy and was always concerned for the wellbeing of others, praying every day not only for himself and his family but also for all the people he crossed paths with. He was loved by so many and will be missed very much, his absence will be felt every day but he will be felt forever in our hearts and we will never forget who he was.

We’ll see you in paradise! That’s a promise from Jehovah God!
Resting in peace, until he hears the voice of his Lord and savior say” come out”. For he is now in Jehovah God’s memory. He is greatly missed.
Kevin was a light in this darkened world. Have fond memories of his comical and exhilarating ways. Jehovah knew what was in his heart. He will entertain us again in paradise. A genuine individual that will be missed. Resting in peace for now.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Beckett a few years back while working at the YMCA. The Generator, told me about his basketball skills and love for the game. I remember that his conversation was welcoming and genuine. May he rest now in his eternal peace.
