Jan. 6, 1945 – Sept. 25, 2020
Christina Elizabeth Musante Holmberg, 75, of Richmond, Virginia passed away on September 25, 2020, in Sunrise at Bon Air in North Chesterfield.
Born in Warren, PA on January 6, 1945, Christina graduated from Warren High School in 1962. She continued her studies at Edinboro State College where she graduated in 1967 Christina and her husband Paul Holmberg began their married life in 1966. Together they welcomed their son Benjamin in 1979, completing their loving family. Christina and Paul remained devotedly married until Paul’s passing on January 12, 2018. She lived in Athens, GA from 1967 – 1971 and lived in Gaffney, SC from 1971 until 1989 at which point she moved with her family to Richmond, VA where they later built their dream home, giving her the opportunity to express her love of gardening.
Christina had a keen sense of style and took pride in having a clean, organized home, and manicured gardens. That orderliness was entirely in sync with her years as an English reading teacher in Pennsylvania, Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia. The same sense of style shone through in her joy in collecting antiques, coins, and fine china. She later shifted her career to become a successful entrepreneur in the family real estate business. Her care for her tenants was evident in her meticulous property maintenance in the family run business of Holmberg Homes.
Christina always was civic minded, and had the wisdom to be constantly improving and so enjoyed reading books about self-help, politics, psychology, and spiritual development. She supported numerous charitable organizations and was a member of the Richmond Apartment Owners Association. Above all this, she was a loving wife and a caring, devoted mother.
Survivors include her son Benjamin Paul Holmberg and his partner Anna Louisa Auguste. Survivors also include her sisters Cecelia Michelotti (husband Kopp), Margaret Musante (husband Keith Barker), her sister Jane Corey, her brother-in-law Gary Holmberg (wife Elaine), and brother-in-law Donald Holmberg (wife Nancy).
