Clayton Powell Dandridge, affectionately, known as “Chub”, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, April 29, 2021. Clayton was born April 8, 1955 to Archie & Joanna Dandridge of Richmond, Virginia. Clayton was a graduate of Huguenot High School located in Richmond, Virginia. He was employed by Philip Morris USA for over 20 years. He later became a proud employee of the University of Richmond, where he worked as a floor technician in the Heilman’s Dining Facility. Clayton loved listening to old school music and being chauffeured by his daughter Joy. He also enjoyed playing cards, the lottery, watching football and golf with his devoted friends. He leaves to cherish a devoted and loving daughter, Joy Dandridge Stamper (Charles), a grand-dog Frankie, and two devoted friends Lois Stallworth (deceased, April 6, 2021), Lavonne Liggens, and many other devoted friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294.

Chub was a fun loving brother in law. He will truly be missed. Joy no sympathy is deep enough, no words are caring enough to take away sorrow. Just know that God loves you and so do I.

While I never met Mr. Dandridge, I feel as though I’ve known him for a long time from the way Joy speaks about him. His loss is so great leaving so many people to feel empty without him. Rest In Paradise Mr. Dandridge. I will make sure to be there for Joy.
