During his career, he was a Mortgage Banker and a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser. He enjoyed golfing, boating, tennis, and running.
Conrad was a “bon vivant” and extremely hospitable. He epitomized “Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow” (Helen Keller) and possessed an eternally positive attitude expressed with his usual “Everything is coming up roses”. He was born in Raleigh, NC, and was the consummate Southern Gentleman. His bright light will be missed.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
I will miss seeing Conrad at the Pearl. He was a ray of sunshine. I will cherish his memory as I remember him saying “how are you today, darlin”.
I am truly sorry for your loss. God bless each of you.
Dear Melissa and Hogue Family,
We met Connie at Todd and Melissa’s Wedding.
He was such a loving man as he welcomed Steve and I into his beautiful family. We also spent a fabulous Thanksgiving at Melissa and Todd’s home. I remember sitting with Connie and asking me what I enjoyed reading and what he was reading at the time. We had a marvelous conversation and I knew that I was very lucky to know him.
Over the years we celebrated Thanksgiving in Richmond with Connie’s whole family surrounding him and Melissa always sitting next to him. The both looked so happy being together.
Melissa would always speak about Conrad with awe. She just adored her dad and it was obvious he adored her right back.
Rest in peace Connie. You will have time now to read all the books you really wanted to get to.
We will miss you so dearly.
With all our love, Jayne and Steve Kimmel.❤️♥️?
I remember a few memories – but I remember he was a funny man!
I’m so sorry for your loss. A chapter has closed for that generation. It was good to be with Conrad and Irene when they celebrated their second wedding. They were my only aunt and uncle on my father’s side. Blessings on you all.
