
Cora Estelle Lee
October 20, 1930-March 11, 2022
Cora Estelle Lee was born October 20,1930 to the late John Short and Irene Gates Short in New York City. She fell asleep in death on March 11, 2022, at Sunrise Senior Living. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years and love of her life Clinton R. Lee Jr. She affectionately called him her Randy Dandy.
She went to the High School of Fashion Industries in New York City where she learned to sew and design clothes. She loved to make clothes for her family and herself. She also worked at the famous boxer Sugar Ray Robinson’s Restaurant & Bar in the early 1950’s. She was able to meet many famous people of that era there. She retired from being a Weight Watcher coach and moved with her husband in 1986 to Petersburg, VA.
Cora dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized on July 14, 1962. She helped her daughter and husband to become part of her large spiritual family of brothers and sisters.
Cora leaves to cherish her memory, stepdaughter Loretta Pemberton, daughter Patricia Johnson (Andy), grandson Jonathan Tucker, granddaughter Melissa Johnson, great grandsons Jayden Tucker, Jayvon Tucker, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Affinity Funeral Service Richmond Chapel, 2720 Enterprise Parkway Richmond, VA 23294 at 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 19, 2022. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
