Curtis Robert Shettle

Curtis Robert Shettle, 65, of Richmond, VA passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, in his home.
He was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Shirley Kibler and Walter Shettle. Curtis was known throughout his life to be a faithful hard worker, which he displayed in his 30-year commitment to the Symbol Mattress Company as well as the continual and generous help he freely gave to others in need. He loved spending time with his family and friends at local spots, where he always developed an avid fan base using his warm smile, jovial laugh, and relentless and heart-warming sense of humor. He was a true bright spot who lit up any room where he was found.
Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Walter; brother, Tommy; and mother-in-law, Mildred Gretz.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda; brother, John, and his wife, Pam; sister, Shirley, and her husband Rick; sister, Kathy; mother, Shirley; brother-in-law, Peter Gretz, and his wife, Sara; and nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Turner, Madelaine, and Elsie.
He will be deeply missed.
To honor Curtis’ memory and celebrate his wonderful life, a small gathering of family was held at his favorite local spot, Dot’s Back Inn, where he was an adored regular.
Mark and I loved General Curtis and his team of Indianapolis Colts. He brought us so much joy during all our family holidays and get-togethers. RIP our friend. We will miss you much.
