Cynthia Pollard-Teasley, daughter of the late Andrew “Angelo” Pollard and Ella “Louise” Fulford was born on July 10, 1966, in Brooklyn, New York.  She departed this life on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at John Randolph Medical Center in Hopewell, Virginia.

Cynthia spent her childhood years in Camden, New Jersey. While growing up, she loved hanging out with her Anderson cousins. She loved a good laugh. She attended Heritage House Performing Arts School with her sisters Tina and Trina as she always loved singing in the church choir, dancing, and acting. Cynthia went on to graduate from Rutgers University in 1985 with a major in Accounting. In August of 1986, Cynthia moved to Richmond, Virginia to continue her education in accounting. She attended Virginia Union University until she became ill in 1988.

Cynthia committed her life to being a loving mom to all, a full-time grandma, caretaker of her mother, and an uplifting motivator and friend to others. She was big on family and she created her own extensions of love everywhere she went. Her heart, soul, smile & laughter was bigger than life.

Cynthia is survived by her step-mother Hartess Ryan; her daughters, Jasmine Pollard, Tawanna Tyler (Marcus Spencer), and Tarina Robinson (Kyle Robinson); her son, Malik Dockery; her sisters, Jewel Pollard (Charles Cherastal), Joyce B. Pollard, Tina Hargett-Pollard, Trina Hargett-Pollard Muhammad, Gwendolyn Mason, and Shawn Ryan; her brother, Robert Ryan; and a host of beloved relatives and friends.

I truly didn’t deserve the love that you continued to give, but you still gave… Thanking you now seems futile but if we believe in the afterlife you know as I write how heavy my heart is with grief because I didn’t tell you sooner. You are forever embedded in a part of heart where love resides. Fly high and your kindness will continue to spread through our memories of you. My most sincere condolences to all family and friends.
    Love, Lamont Teasley
