Daniel Lewis Winston

Our Father, grandfather, and brother, Daniel L. Winston, passed on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 after a brief stay at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.
Daniel (Danny), as he was affectionately known to many, was born October 15, 1942 to the late Bertie Bailey and Morris C. Winston in Louisa County, Virginia
Daniel was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Doris C. Winston. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Dana W. Jackson, and son Donnell L. Winston; five grandchildren, Bryant and Allison Jackson, Rae-Kwan, NyJoel, and Leilani Winston; a sister, Peggy Nelson (Morris); two brothers, David Winston (Audrey) and Douglas Winston (Sandra); daughter in law, Natasha Winston; sister in law, Edna Romeo, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 19 at Affinity Funeral Service – Richmond Chapel, 2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294. A private family service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 20 friends may join via live stream as listed below. Interment to follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens.

I will miss my brother-in-law so much; he was always like a big brother to me & had been a confident to me several times over 45 years. You have earned your wings, Danny rest in heavenly peace & please tell Doris I still miss her more.

I am so very sorry to hear about Dan he use to be my manager at Anthem/Trigon . So humble and grateful and a great manager . I will keep the family in prayer because I know he will be deeply missed.
Remembering Dan as kind , compassionate and always a professional gentleman during his tenure of managing one of our teams at Anthem BCBS . May he now sleep in Perfect Peace and wishing his family peace to bring you comfort, courage to face the day’s ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart !!!

I have fond memories of the days when I roade with Danny while I was a student at Virginia Union University. The friendship endured over the years and now I extend my sincere condolences to Danny’s family.
