She was beloved by her many extended family members and friends who were like family. Darlene was a graduate of Highland Springs High School and the Braxton School of Business. While she held many professional roles beginning at Georgia Pacific Corporation and finishing with Lafayette, Ayers & Whitlock PLC; her creative eye for interior design was her passion. Darlene will be remembered as a loving daughter, proud mother, adoring grandmother, the best Auntie and a rock for her family and friends. Fiercely Independent, very particular, so much fun, full of spunk, and deeply devoted are only some of the many ways that those who called her Darlene, Mom, Auntie, Didi or Sis regularly used when referring to her beautiful tough spirit. Darlene’s giggles, stern looks, stellar advice, and hugs will be missed. Darlene’s family and friends have cherished all of the extra time that they have been given with her and wish her peace without pain as she takes this next path with gusto.
