Deborah Childress Paul

July 16, 1952 – October 1, 2022

Deborah Childress Paul, 70, of Midlothian, VA peacefully passed away on Saturday,  October 1, 2022, among family.

Debbie was met in heaven by her parents, Earl and Ethel Childress; her sister, Betty Bustamonte; and her great-niece, Andreia Nichole Hemphill. She is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Richard Paul; daughters and sons-in-law, Meredith and Jason Sigler and Angela and Jason Baker; three grandkids, Adeline, Lily, and Everett; brothers and sister, Buddy Childress, Brenda Lambert, and Bill Childress; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Debbie grew up in Southwestern Virginia, attended Grundy High School, participated in multiple theatrical plays, was Homecoming Queen in the Fall of 1969, and graduated in the Spring of 1970. She then attended Radford College and graduated in 1973 with a BS in Chemistry. Debbie worked for Virginia’s Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services for 36 years as a food chemist; after which, she retired and watched her grandchildren for more than 10 years. Debbie loved her Winfree Church family including the Winfree Adult Choir, Morning Glories Bible Study group, Agape Sunday School class, and many more groups. She also was a deacon and children’s Sunday School teacher. Debbie will always be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness and generosity.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 29 at Winfree Memorial Baptist Church at 13617 Midlothian Turnpike, Midlothian, VA  23113. A reception to follow.
