Donald “Donnie” Lee Francis, 55, of Richmond, VA, earned his angel wings on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Born in Moundsville, WV on October 25, 1967, he was the son of the late Ronald Lee Francis, Sr. and Sharon Tennant Francis.
For 25 years, Donnie showcased his dedication at Meineke Car Care Center, valuing the bonds he formed there. Outside of work, he reveled in family get-togethers, reminiscing about old times, and cherished moments with his beloved daughters whom he deeply adored. Known for his kindness, humor, compassion, and care, Donnie’s absence will deeply resonate with all who knew him.
He is preceded in death of his father and brothers Ronald Francis Jr., Dale Francis, and Jerry Francis. Donnie’s legacy continues through his daughters, Amber and Savannah; grandchildren, Matthew, Aurora, and Chandler. He is remembered by his mother, Sharon Francis; brothers Chris Francis (Sherry) and Randy Francis (Pam); sister Robin Cronin (Jim); sisters-in-law Mary and Sharon “Nic” Francis. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of devoted lifelong friends.

Donnie was a great guy who loved his daughters and the rest of his family. I was privileged to know him for over 10 years and relied on him to fix things on my cars that no one else was willing or capable of doing. He became a good friend of mine and I liked stopping by Meineke and talking to him. We will all miss him and the world’s a smaller place with him gone.
Donnie was a great guy. He was very great working on vehicles. Keep me running real good, he will be. Miss. I’m definitely gonna miss him. Donnie kept my car running, right? What? I used to go to the Meineke shop for the last 23 years. Donny, you will be missed. That is news I did not expect. My prayers goes out to the France’s family. Sorry for your loss, Donny was a great guy he will be missed.
