    Carol & Hawk,

I was so sorry to hear about Don’s passing. For so many, he has meant so much. Know of my thoughts and prayers for you during this time of grief. Losing your mother last year and now your dad as you begin this year has not been easy. Unfortunately, I am overseas at the time and won’t be able to share my condolences in person, but please know that I am with you in spirit.

    Blessings & Prayers,

    Randy Rains

It was just a few weeks ago that we were able to hear Don tell some of his incredible God stories. If I had known it would be the last time, I would have asked for more. We are so sorry for the loss of this Godly servant leader and also so thankful for his influence across the globe. To God be the glory!

Dear cousins, I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. I know what a close family you have always been, and it breaks my heart for you that both your Mom and Dad are gone. Your dad was truly one of the best people I have ever known, and I will miss him. Please know that the entire Kammerdiener-Dobson family loves you and is praying for you. We will all grieve so much but can look forward in confidence to that day when we will all be united in Heaven. Love to all of you.

Family of Don: We will be remembering you at this time of Don’s passing. We have very fond memories of the love, support and kindness shown to us as we arrived in Cali, Colombia as very young missionaries in 1980. Don and Meredith were our “big brothers”. Don has always been an inspiration to us as we served in Colombia and Ecuador. “To God be the Glory”!

Dear Carol and Hawk, how I wish I could be there with you in these days, but know of my love and prayers for you and your family all the way from here in Madrid. I am blessed with wonderful memories of your father, from getting to know him and Meredith when Jim and I and you two were at MLC/ILC, to Don’s coming all the way to First Baptist Church, Paris, TN to recognize Jim’s service after his death in Argentina, and present me a memorial plaque in the worship service, to making it possible for me to serve at the Richmond IMB office in communications as I sought God’s guidance for next steps in my life, to taking time to walk me through God’s calling on my life after Jim’s death and enabling me to hear the Lord’s voice regarding going to Southwestern Seminary (although I think he would rather I had gone to Midwestern Seminary ? I am where I am today, serving the Lord with IMB here in Madrid, Spain, because of the investment your father made in my life and for His Kingdom. Forever grateful. He lives on not only in my life and ministry but in the lives and ministries of so many more. Un abrazo muy, muy fuerte mis queridos amigos.
