Donald Robert Kellison, 75, of Chesterfield County, Virginia passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 5, 2021.
Donald was recently preceded in death by his beautiful & devoted wife of 53 years, Joyce; and his two grandsons, William Maynard III, & Michael Wayne New Jr. He is survived by his four children, William “Billy” Maynard Jr. (Mary), Susan Seay (Robbie), Cathy New (Mike), and Lisa Allen; as well as his dedicated granddaughter, Tara Garner (Dennis). Donald is also survived by eight additional beloved grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two loving sisters, Joyce Ann Kellison & Peggy Martin; his loving niece, Teresa Snow; along with a host of other nieces and nephews.
Donald served honorably in the United States Army and was a proud Veteran of the Korean War. His time in the military taught him the value of discipline, and hard work. Donald was a selfless, thoughtful, and admirable man. A man who asked for so little, but gave so very much in return. His cheerful attitude, his bright smile and his infectious laugh will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him. His kind and loving heart will continue to serve as a beacon of light to those closest to him.
Although he is no longer by our side, he will be forever in our hearts.
A shared Celebration of Life, for both Donald and Joyce Kellison will be held in Spring, 2022. The date, time, & location to be announced at later date.
Daddy,, I miss you so much and never did I think you would leave me. Im so thankful that you were able to come home and not in the hospital when you left me. I’ll always cherish our time together and God knows you were the best father/daddy anyone could ask for!! The pain of losing you is so real. I wish I could turn back time and have you here with me. I promise to take care of your baby girl Dixie. We shared memories that no one can ever take from us. I love you so much daddy!! Give momma a hug and a kiss for me. You are now with her again. Love you both so much!!
