Donna Jean Allen

December 26, 1951 – June 9, 2021

Donna Jean Allen, 69, died at home on June 9, 2021, where she was lovingly cared for by her four children in her final weeks of life. She was born December 26, 1951 in Fulton, NY, the daughter of Francis George and Charlotte Farnsworth George. She graduated from Hannibal High School and lived in upstate New York until she and her family moved to Richmond, VA in 1978.

A very caring person, Donna spent the majority of her career as a medical assistant at Surgical Specialists in Richmond. Her favorite vocation, though, was that of Mom and Grandma to her children and grandchildren, as well as their spouses and significant others. Donna always kept her family members guessing and laughing, as you never knew what one-liner she would come up with next. Her terrific sense of humor and quick wit helped create many great memories that her family will cherish.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Gary Allen; and one sister, Holly Dickens. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her daughters, Genise Whitehurst and her husband, Bruce, Rachel Beck, Natalie Stutts and her husband, Jason; her son, Neil Huber; and seven grandchildren: Carson, Cameron and Caroline Whitehurst, Dylan Jackson, and Kayla, Abbey and Jackson Stutts; three sisters: Linda Dodge (Eddie), Patricia Huber (Jim), Vicki Hayford, and Joni Lord; her brother, Francis P. George; and many nieces and nephews.

A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Affinity Funeral Service, 8074 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.

The family wishes to thank everyone from Heartland Hospice of Richmond for their incredible care and support of Donna and her family. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund.
