Durwood W. Durrette, 47, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
Durwood was born in Richmond, VA, to the late Patricia and Sammy Durrette. He was preceded in death by his sister, Tina. He leaves behind a legacy of two daughters, Alexis and Asya; son, Jordan; grandson, Jayce; three sisters, Pam, Melody and Sherry; a nephew; a host of nieces, great-nieces and nephews; and friends, who loved him dearly.
Durwood was the definition of a fighter. His fight for his children and his family was like no other. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones and kept everyone laughing hysterically, as he was always cracking jokes. Although our hearts are saddened, our minds will forever be filled with the memories of
all the laughter and good times he left us with. His strength and enduring legacy will continue to live on within each of us, as he will truly be missed.
A private celebration of Durwood’s life will be held to honor his memory.
I am thankful I got to meet Durwood before his passing. I honestly didn’t know much about him but I do know he loved his family and always wanted the best for them. Rest in peace Durwood.
