
Edward E. “Ed” Bareford

BAREFORD, Edward E. “Pops, 92, of Richmond, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital
surrounded by all of his girls. Pops was born at the foot of the cross and raised in Kino, Virginia. He was the son of the late James and Gertrude Bareford. Pops was a true entrepreneur and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t wheel or deal. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria “Guppy” Bareford of 67 years.
Survivors include his three daughters, Jennie Huffman (William Stratton), Edward Earlynne Wheatley (David) and Vonda Kay Bareford; and a bonus daughter, Ellen Adams; eight grandchildren, Heather, James David, Tara, Haylee, Alexandra, Page Virginia, Ashton and Sydney; 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Margaret Cooke; and his brother, James Bareford. He was loved by many for his sense of humor and positive outlook on life. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 4 at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, Va. 23294. A service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
