Edward Lee Taylor
August 24, 1950-June 3, 2022
Our beloved son, brother, and friend, Edward Lee Taylor, died on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the age of 71. Ed was predeceased by his father, Warren Taylor. Ed is survived by his mother Nita Taylor, his brother Richard Taylor, his sister-in-law Janet Kurowski Taylor, his niece Kathryn Rebecca Taylor Glidden, his grandniece Abigail Rose Taylor Glidden, and his beloved dog Tryce. Patti Sunko-Imhof, Ed’s love with whom he shared his final 3 years, and Tryce were with Ed when he passed peacefully at his home in Bon Air. Ed had an adventurous life travelling across North America from Mexico to Alaska and everywhere in between including Hawaii. He lived in Alaska for several years. Ed worked for many years as a carpenter. Besides carpentry, Ed’s avocation was history and reading the many books on various historical subjects. Ed also loved having a garden and enjoying the fruits of his labor. Ed was blessed by having a group of loyal friends who stuck with him all the way from his high school years. In his final months, family and friends took turns watching over Ed, walking Tryce and keeping the woodstove burning all winter. The family cannot thank his friends enough for being there when they were especially needed. The family would also like to send special thanks to his morning aide Linda Sanders, his evening aide Kim Beck, and his hospice nurse Amy.
I only met Ed for a short visit but was touched by his devotion to my sister Patti and his sense of humor. Patti had many wonderful stories to share about Ed and his love for gardens and just knowledge of so many things. And of course his faithful companion, Tryce, who was by his side until the end. Ed added much to Patti’s life these past three years and I have a feeling much to the lives he has touched along the way.
Knew Eddie in the 80’s and early 90’s. We worked together as carpenters and shared a love of history. Always enjoyed his company and his passion. RIP Big Ed.
