Farewell my Dear brother Ed. I love you Ed! Your death was unexpected and a surprise, as you left us so fast that nobody had a chance to properly say our goodbyes. I am so saddened to see you go brother and you are already being missed. May God bless you and keep you until we meet again.
Find peace where you are my brother. If there is a baseball diamond there, hit a few more over the fence and rise above the 658 batting average you had while at George Wythe High School in the early 1970’s! Maybe up there, you can captain the team to all 4 State Championships! You were my hero and role model then, and the best I have ever seen play the game! I am still a fan Captain!
With Love, Honor and Respect from your brother Lloyd.
Lieber Bruder
Ed was a tenant and friend for many years. He did odd jobs for me and was reliable and thorough. He was kind and responsible. My cat loved him! Dear Ed, Maybe you will find Golden Rose now. You were a good human being; better than most. Thanks for being my friend.
I’m shocked…..and just finding out about this…..I lived with Eddie in Bradenton Florida when we played baseball together at Manatee Jr college. We both had scholarships…..instantly were good friends…. cheered for the Redskins…..and thought at that time we would both be playing baseball for a living…..but it just didn’t work out for us. We dropped out of school and came home together…..disappointed, and hung out for a while until he decided he was going to move to greener grounds….I think California. He looked for his new dreams and I looked for mine. I lost contact until I ran into him in a bar in Henrico County in the late 70s one night…….then lost contact again.
Great guy who I wish I could have had the chance to talk to again about our days in Florida. Long may you run Eddie
It is now later in the evening after reading this obituary and there is one more thing I want to say about Eddie…..we instantly became good friends at School when we first met in 73. Several months later…..we realized our bonding. We we both born the same year/day 11-4-54 and in the same hospital in Richmond Virginia. How many people can say that? Who knows….maybe we were in beds next to each other in that hospital. Still trying to get over this news. The 10 year search and happy reunion I had hope for has now come to a sad ending. I can only say I continue to carry the fond memories we had together the rest of my life. Abschied my friend.
