VAN BUSKIRK, Eleanor Strepay, 88, of Henrico, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 1, 2018. She was the widow of Roger Charles Van Buskirk, who passed away August 2017. They were married 66 years. She was born in Wall, Pa. on October 28, 1929, to Michael Strepay and Mary Secko Strepay. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Cecelia Duga, Irene Dekret, Alma Trujillo and Albert Strepay. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Koy (Joseph) and Judith Johnson (Brad Reed); grandchildren, Alan, Brian, Grace, Mary, Emily; and great-grandchildren, Ella, LilyAnn, Trevin and Brielle. Eleanor graduated from West Penn Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. The years before and after raising her family, she worked as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Ohio and North Carolina. Eleanor was known for all the wonderful cakes she baked for family birthdays and Park West potlucks. She was a regular at Friday night Park West bingo. You never entered her home without being offered refreshment. The family will receive friends at 9 a.m. Friday, July 6, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 4491 Springfield Rd., Glen Allen, Va. 23060, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., with reception immediately following.
