We will miss you Rosy!!
Rosy, I just learned you have left us. I’m so sad. You brought such fun & laughter to me & my family. You drove my daughter to her wedding. You took us on annual Christmas light tours when the grand kids came along. At Colonial Downs, you trying to teach a 3yo how to pick horses. We’ll miss you & carry our memories of you in our hearts. Rest in peace King Kookazoid!

Oh Gary my heart is broken I saw you every three weeks for 32 years. You always had a joke for me we would laugh and talk of all the funny stuff that happened. You are now with gizzards your sweet boy . You will always be special to me. I miss you more than you know. Love you like a brother gone but never forgotten. ??. My special rose!
Gary was a fellow Syracuse Psi U and he, like the rest of us, was very proud of that lineage. Gary was a larger than life figure who filled every room. His self-confidence was infectious and inspiring. His wit and sense of humor was second to none. And Gary was as loyal as they come. I am proud to call him my brother and my friend. Boy, will he be missed!
Gary and I were in the same Pledge Class at Psi U @ Syracuse University and graduated in 1973. We were roomates with a couple other Piboys before we scattered got married and started careers. Gary was an exteremely funny guy. A premier giver of nick names and had the greatest girlfriends. A group of us have been in contact the past couple of weeks trading our favorite Gary stories. I gotta tell you these are fond memories and remain hilarious 50 years later. I second Will’s comment – I am proud to call him my brother and friend. God speed Gary, I’ll see you again some day.
Rest In Peace, Brother. I am glad to have known you. ITB forever.
You were our best friend and so much fun to go to the Gardens and introduce us to the VFA . Your jokes made me laugh until I cried and I will always miss you. You were one of a kind buddy , there is no one like you! Love you ! Chiles will miss you and your flowers, little animal pets (hand held) and so sweet to us all.
Gary was one of my college romances. Always remember fondly my visits to Syracuse (via motorcycle) , rides in his dad’s boat, and having my first legal alcoholic drink. We stayed in touch all these many years. When I did not get a Thanksgiving text I immediately felt his passing. RIP my fruend
Gary was certainly one of a kind. I will always remember his love of visiting Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens and especially the butterfly exhibit in the summer. So many bar side conversations at many establishments! He was always ready with advice whether you wanted it or not! As we used to say “That’s how Rosy rolls”.
Rest peacefully my friend.
Gary, We had some lively times together. I hope you see josh in Mundo land.
Gary was always larger than life and he did take up the whole room. All the Psi Upson fraternity boys wanted to be with him as that was where the action was. Rugby player, drummer, high steel worker fraternity president. so many crazy antics and great times. Gary once said “GW Rose will be heading back down to sunny Virginia and your property values will be returning to normal shortly”

Upon seeing Gary in the hospital the last few months of his life I was stunned . He could have caught the cancer in time but chose to wait…. too long. Lesson learned. Then at his Memorial we all heard of his “published ” exploits but i also heard of the loyalty extended to his friends and helping hand to immigrants and people brand new to this country . Upon my marriage and my new wife’s pregancy 30 years ago , Gary said:
“Hey Pearl (my college nickname) I’m not gay but I love you and if there anything you ever need just ask.” I glad he cleared that up !
I was looking forward to hangin’ with the man but tragically. this is not to be.
Rest in Peace Brother. You will be remembered.
