Howard Armstead Underwood, 71, lovingly known as “Bubba Dee” departed this life on Wednesday, July 31 2019.
Howard was born on August 21, 1947 to the late Junius A. Underwood and Helen Boyd Underwood.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Junius Underwood; brother Robert Underwood; sister Antoinette Mitchell; and brother Junius Underwood, Jr.
As a child, he attended Richmond Public Schools, a graduate of Maggie L. Walker High School. He served in the United States Air Force stationed in Germany. After the Air Force he attended John Tyler College.
He was co-owner of The Bandbox record store, owner of Oji Fashions and an employee of the United States Postal Service.
Howard is survived by his Mother; Helen Underwood, Daughter; Tracy Underwood, Sister; Linda Underwood, Brother; Charles Underwood. 4 Grandchildren; Jabari, Brandi, LaKeyia and Jasmine, 8 great Grandchildren, a host of Nephews, one devoted Argentine Mitchell (Rashida), Nieces, Aunts and Cousins and many devoted friends, among them, Brenda Gordon-Jackson, Brother Mwaalkebu-lan Akil
Zorro Roberts and Sabrina Johnson.
A memorial service will be held 10 am, Saturday August 10, 2019 at March Funeral Home 2110 E. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222.
