James W. Maybush Jr.
October 28, 1956 – November 11, 2023
James Wade Maybush Jr, 67 of Richmond passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 6:30 pm with his wife Mary Heather Maybush of 32 years at his bedside. James had been sick with many medical conditions but his strength for life and determination to stay with his family was valiant. He was very loved and cared for by his whole family and friends and his passing has left a large void in our hearts.
James was preceded in death by his parents he cherished: mother, Dorothy E Maybush; and father, James W Maybush Sr; a grandmother, Doris Parsley; his brother, Douglas Maybush; two sisters, Kay F Gromovsky and Marjorie F Farrow; and many uncles and aunts.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Heather Cohn Maybush; a beautiful and kind-hearted daughter, Michele Maybush Mercer ( Johnny) of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina from his previous marriage; three children whom he cherished with Heather: two sons, James Wade Maybush III, Alexander William Maybush; and a precious daughter, Mary Jane Maybush who is engaged to Cameron Chase Mothershead of the Northern Neck Of Virginia; a sister, Laura Maybush; a brother Steve Maybush; sister-in-law, Pam Maybush and Mary Cayton; so many nieces and nephews he thought about often; an Uncle Bill Parsley, who he saw not only as an Uncle but, as his closest friend with his wife Brenda.
James was a fantastic Body Repair Technician. His love of cars was endless, and he owned, fixed, and restored many automobiles in his lifetime. He was also talented in plumbing and fixing things and helped renovate our houses. He liked to drive and ride on the boat, watch the Dallas Cowboys Football Team, NASCAR, and many car shows on the television. James also enjoyed taking long drives and going out to eat but most of all he worried, loved, and cared for his family.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Affinity Funeral Service, 2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294.

We hope in the days to come, your fond memories will help heal the loss of your beloved husband and father.
