Jearldine Evelyn Diggs

March 26, 1958 – August 12, 2022

Jearldine “Jeri” Diggs, 64, of Richmond Virginia passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Chippenham Hospital.

Jeri was born to the late Harry and Margarette Cole in Peoria Illinois on March 26, 1958. She married her first and only love of her life David Diggs Sr on December 30, 1982, in Occoquan Virginia. She was blessed with three children who she loved immensely. She was the type of person that would light up a room with just her smile. She only had kind words for almost everyone. She gave her heart and love to God and her family.  Jeri was a person of many talents and no one greater than the other,  but the one that stood out the most was hospitality. She was compassionate, kind-hearted, would cry at the drop of a dime for any reason happy or sad, was an exceptional cook, she would make a special dish for every person she cooked for. She had many accomplishments in life, served in the US Army, was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all just to name a few.

Jeri was preceded in death by her sister’s Jenny, Barbara, and Beverly.

Jeri is survived by her husband David, daughters Shannon and Victoria, son David Jr., granddaughter Lindsey, daughter-in-law Tadiana, son-in-law Montoya, grandson Gabriel, and her grand fur babies Hercules, Jasmine, Luna, and Titan.

She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to meet her.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 pm, on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Affinity Funeral Service Richmond Chapel, 2720 Enterprise Parkway Richmond, VA 23294. Interment will be private

Jeri had a beautiful heart, and I will always carry her Christian spirit with me. She taught me a lot about Christianity through her words, her kindness, her love, her compassion, and her actions. Heaven has certainly gained a special angel.

I knew Jeri through my daughter in-law Shannon, who spoke of her Mother often. I never had the opportunity to meet her in person, but I knew she had to be a special person. I know this was a tremendous lose to the family, but this was God’s call. She is now in the hands of our father, no more suffering, or pain. Through it all, she is now at peace. God Bless you and your family.

Jeri and I worked for the same company. She would come visit us upstairs. She always has a beautiful smile on her face and was so proud of her family. She was the 1st person to offer up prayers if she thought you needed them and to ask for prayers when she needed them. She had such a positive, happy, and loving energy about her. She would always leave me smiling. She is gone far too soon and I miss her dearly. Much love to her family and friends. Heaven got a good one!

Jeri and I were suite neighbors, both working for the same company for several years. Jeri and I shared many deep conversations about life, love, God and family. She stopped in my office late Wednesday afternoon and told me she was praying for me. I’ll never forget her parting words and they’ve brought me peace since I learned of her passing. As equally memorable will be her huge smile and her kind, loving warm spirit. I do and will miss Jeri so much.

To Jeri’s family who she spoke of and praised so often: I pray God holds you close and provides comfort and peace to you. May Jeri’s memory continue to dazzle you forever. God bless you.

Jeri worked with my mother (Elizabeth) and also with my daughter (Tiffanie). She lit the room up with her smile, you enjoyed talking with her and just being around her. Jeri cared about people, she was kind, thoughtful and a great cook. I sure wish the world had a lot more people in it like her. Heaven gained a special angel that will truly be missed more than words can say. David, I am so sorry for your loss. Sincerest condolences to you and your family.

Mrs. Jeri had such a beautiful spirit. I would assist her at GSC with her computer. She was such a sweet voice to hear on the other side of the phone. That voice will be surely missed. My condolences to her family and friends.
I pray that her spirit and love for the Lord will be one to follow for days to come and that with each passing day fond memories of her will be a refuge of strength and give you peace. Thank you for sharing that sweet spirit to the world.

We are so very sad to hear about the passing of your sweet mom. Jeri was one of the most kind and compassionate person I have ever known. She loved her family with all her heart and I know she will be missed by so many. She was an Angel on Earth and is now an Angel in Heaven. So many thoughts and prayers for her family.

I meet Jeri while working in the building next door to office, she was always joyful and full of life. She never had a bad day it seemed. she would share her thoughts and prayers with you as if she had known you for years and would always want you to do if there was anything she could do. With a wide smile and a humble heart, she went thru her workday with joy and confidence. She will forever be missed but never forgotten. I offer lots of prayers to her family and ask that they continue to put GOD first in their lives and know that Jeri loved them and that she will always love on thru them.

Have know Jeri for many of years and we also worked together. She was always such a joy to be around. Over all just an amazing person, a huge heart of gold, and an amazing cook (loved our lunches together) never had anything that I didn’t like. I will cherish the times we had together and all the stories she would tell during our times together ❤. She loved her family with everything and would always talk about how much she loved them. I have lost count on how many times Jeri had helped out others including my family. She would constantly pray for others. Her spirituality was amazing and wish we had more of her in this world. We will surely miss you dearly. Praying for your family and friends during this difficult time? ❤
    Romans 14:8
If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
You may be gone on earth but will never be forgotten ❤???

Omg where do I start? She was a BEAUTIFUL soul, took me in as a son, made sure I was always comfortable. She was a comedian, I remember being in tears listening to her and Mr. David crack jokes on each other, then she would go in on me too…no one was safe! Mr. Diggs, my heart hurts for you and your family sir, she was a wonderful woman, wife, mother, and above all…child of God. I know she will be truly missed, she was the GOAT! I love you all, and all are in my prayers and thoughts.

Jeri and I worked together at KidMed and oh the fun we had. We would text each other and plan our dinners. We would talk about family and God! She had a love for God that clearly showed upon her face because you can’t love people the way she did and not have God in your life! Her family was her pride and joy. She was like a momma to me and I would call her momma Jeri. I loved her so much and she will be greatly missed in my life as well as others. To be absent from the body is to be present with Lord! Rest peacefully momma Jeri and save me a seat !!

Jeri was a prayer mother to my girls South Richmond Church of God. April, Ashley and Daryl would visit with them in the summers . Our family has such wonderful memories.
I’m shocked to hear she earned her wings.
My love and prayers go out to the whole family.
    Her memory will be eternal.
    All my Love,
    Angie
