
Jean F. Longbucco
April 13, 1945 – January 7, 2023
Jean F. Longbucco, 77 of Henrico passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Born on April 13, 1945, in Yonkers, NY she lived in Middletown, NY before moving to Richmond, VA.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Beatrice Howe, her brother Robert Howe and beloved Grandmother Pauline Nioras.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years Louis Longbucco, Jr.; her son Louis Longbucco III of Concord, NC; daughter Valerie Kelly of Henrico, VA; son-in-law Tom Kelly and grandchildren Jack and Fiona whom she loved dearly; and her sisters Kathy Viglucci and Paula Kochon.
Jean was a graduate of Commerce High School in Yonkers, NY where she was a bookkeeper and in later years was a water filtration plant technician in Middletown, NY. She retired to the Richmond, VA area in 2012 to be closer to her grandchildren.
She was an impressive seamstress, crocheted blankets for her grandchildren, and was an excellent needlepoint artist who shared her gifts with her family. She loved Doo Wop music and her stereo could often be heard outside at full volume. Her favorite place to be was at the beach where she would surf fish and she would always catch more fish than her husband. Jean was an avid whitetail deer hunter with excellent shots who spend many hours in the woods with her husband and son. She had a competitive spirit and would spar often playing cards with her daughter. She was generous with her time and was a fun and loving Grandmother. She had a wicked sense of humor and a hearty laugh; she was fiercely devoted to her family and absolutely loved her grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, at Affinity Funeral Service – Richmond Chapel, 2720 Enterprise Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23294.
The family will receive friends at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, January 13, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 4491 Springfield Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m.
My Condolences to the family of my wonderful neighbor Jean, our family will truly miss Jean.. We were neighbors since 2012, Lou & family I pray you find comfort in the wonderful memories of your loving wife, mother, and grandmother. May the Peace of God comfort you.
