Jean Tealie Otelia Parker Togawa

June 21, 1937 – June 6, 2024

Jean Tealie Otelia Parker Togawa, 86 of Ashland, VA. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 6, 2024, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

Jean was born in Richmond, Va. in 1937 to Lawrence Anthony Parker and Araminta Belle Willis Parker.

Jean lived with and took special joy in the relationship she had with her youngest daughter, Celeste, and her son-in-law, Tony. She thoroughly enjoyed helping raise her granddaughter, Jessica, and grandson Harvey(Boo) Mason. Jean, Celeste, and Jessica were known as the three amigos as they loved making memories together. One of Jean’s biggest pride and joy was her great-grandsons, Myles and Maddox, twin sons to Jessica and Vinny. Jean had a special connection with her great-grandson, Mason, they both loved trains.

Jean was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Anthony; mother Araminta Belle; four brothers Joseph, Lawrence, Edward, and Kenneth; two sisters Phyllis and Rose; daughter Patricia; and great-grandson Maddox. She is survived by her sister, Ilene Rutherford; sons Wally, Lawrence, Blake, and Brian; daughter Celeste Duncan (Tony); grandchildren Jessica Loeffler (Vinny), Harvey(Boo) Mason, Troy Mason, Lori Atkinson, and Tracy Mason; great-grandchildren Myles, and Mason; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024,  at Oakdale, 13497 Ashland Road, Ashland, Va. 23005.
