
Jeffrey Eric Kyte
April 9, 1962 – October 4, 2023
Jeffrey Eric Kyte, known to his loved ones as Jeff, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, in Mechanicsville, VA, at the age of 61. He was born on April 9, 1962, in Norfolk, VA. Jeff was a patient, loving, proud, strong, and knowledgeable man who always supported and cherished his family. He was artistic and had a deep passion for history, patriotism, and community service. He found solace in the beauty of the beach and mountains.
Jeff is survived by his beloved wife of over 34 years, Stacie Kyte, and their children, Eric Kyte and Lindsey Hues (Noah). He is also survived by his sister, Tammy Wyand (P.D. Dennis), sister-in-law, Teresa Kyte West (Tom), brother-in-law, James R. Carson (Pattie), several nieces and nephews: Clay Callihan, Tyler Callihan, Brian Carson (Kim), Lauren Douglas (Chase), Kimberly Creech (partner, David) Jennifer Dominguez (Kyle), his great nieces: Amanda Creech (partner, Lee), Samantha Creech, and Rachael Dominguez, and cousins Denise Rogers (Craig), Daryl Law (Wanda) and Joy Call. Jeff also leaves behind his loyal German Shepherd, Kai, longtime friend, J.R. Long, and a host of other family members, and community friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Reuben and Marie Mangum, his parents, Donald and Marion Kyte, his brother, Daniel C. Kyte, his maternal aunt, Louise Law, and his beloved black lab, Gohan.
Jeff attended Manchester High School and pursued business courses at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. Throughout his career, he was the owner and operator of Save Our Seniors, S.O.S. Services. A business he started in 1999 to help seniors stay in their homes by doing odd jobs and “honey-do” lists for a minimal charge. It has since grown into a contract cleaning and demolition business. Prior to that, he worked as a warehouse employee and manager at Virginia Impression Products.
Beyond his professional life, Jeff’s hobbies were diverse and reflected his adventurous spirit. He was a dedicated husband and father, a committed Boy Scout Leader for 25 years, a dedicated gym enthusiast, and a passionate relic hunter and collector. Jeff’s love for history, fishing, hunting, serving his community, and action movies brought him great joy. He mostly loved spending time with his family. He was also known for his entrepreneurial spirit as a business owner.
A memorial service to honor Jeff’s life will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at the Mechanicsville Christian Center located at 8061 Shady Grove Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the Hanover Patriots, Boy Scout Troop 553, or the ASPCA in Jeff’s memory.

I never got the privilege of meeting Jeff but followed him and his family on Kai’s Paw Patrol thru Hanover Patriots and am thankful for everything he and his family did and continues to do. I pray the Lord wraps his arms around the family during this difficult time. I know he lives on in the heart of each one of you.

I never met Mr. Kyte, but read his Kai report every single morning. God Bless his family and friends as they navigate these rough times.

Jeff was such a pillar in our community and neighborhood! Such a selfless person! Our hearts are broken but until we meet again, rest in peace!
I so enjoyed working with Jeff at the Santa breakfast for the Hanover patriots for the past couple years. We had a really fun time. He was a great guy will be sorely missed.but always remembered.
I never had the pleasure of meeting Jeff (but I felt I knew him ) prayers for Him , he’s in a better place ?? prayers for his wife an children that was left behind . Will mill his history lessons (:(
We were privileged to know Jeff and witness his love of family and patriotic spirit . He was a tremendous help to us in the last few years. Jeff’s absence is a real loss to the community. I’m so sorry for loss. I was ablexto meet Jeff at the easter egg hunt for hanover patriots. I could have sat there all day listening to him. Reading his obituary shows he loved his family and country. I will miss his stories but know Eric will continue on his dads legacy.
I looked forward to his report on behalf of Hanover Patriots. Now his son carrying on the tradition. May his family feel Gods comfort!
