Jeremy R. Backus of Henrico, Virginia left this world suddenly on October 17, 2023.
He was born in Charleston, WV on September 9, 1978. Jeremy is a 1996 graduate of Godwin High School in Richmond, VA, and attended Bluefield Community College in Beckley, WV.
Jeremy is survived by his loving sons, Zackary and Lucas of Henrico; his mother and stepfather, Linda and Richard Stocks of Henrico: brother Matthew and partner Eric Yim of Glen Allen, VA; ex-wife Cara of York, PA; father Dean and stepmother Sheila of Beckley, WV; aunts, Mary Lee Stocks of Delaware, OH, and Susan Craft of Dunbar, WV; half-brother, Josh of Beckley, WV; half-sister, Katie Cole of Beckley, WV; and several nieces and nephews of Wheeling, WV and Charleston, WV.
The family will have a private Celebration of Jeremy’s life.

I love you guys so much! Jeremy will be missed! I’ll never forget the last times we were all together when grandmother passed. Yall were always there for me and made me laugh and smile. I remember us all being together and how close we use to be. I love you Jeremy and you will be missed. I’ll always remember the laughs and smiles.
Jeremy was a sweet person and he was a great dad. I know he will be missed especially by his two sons and dad and brother. I can’t imagine the pain they are feeling. Sending the family much love and prayers. Love ya Jeremy. RIP

Jeremy was loved by so many, my heart is completely broken. My kids adored and cherished every moment with their dad. I have so many memories that I will hold in my heart forever. So many conversations that are forever stuck in my head. May you forever rest in peace. Watch over us! I will always remind your boys how much you loves them. I will never let your light die in their eyes. Every important moment I’m their life , we will celebrate you! I promise you that.
