I remember “Uncle John” as always smiling and seeing those wonderful dimples he had. From the stories Alex and Jamaal have told how he was a wonderful and very caring uncle and was like a father when they were kids. He continued being a “great uncle” to our grandsons by sending them gifts which they have enjoyed and appreciated. He will not be forgotten. Peace and prayers to you al during this difficult time.
Love, Polly and family
Sending prayers of comfort to the Mitchell family. So deeply sorry for your loss.
To my childhood friend who was always sweet and kind. May you rest in peace.
I spent countless days of my childhood at the firehouse with Mr. Mitchell or as I called him “Meathead”. He always opened the door to talk to me, let me run around the firehouse, and even let me watch basketball games with him. He was like an uncle to me for as long as I’ve known him. He even refereed a few of my childhood basketball games. He was a good man, and I’ll forever cherish our memories together. Sending love and light to the Mitchell family during this difficult time.
Rest in eternal peace John, you will be forever missed and never forgotten…To my neices Linda and Trice and the rest of his family, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss that laugh and smile when you & Linda traveled to.
” the country ” as you called it…..Rest easy my friend⚘💞

To Angela, Harold, Earl & the entire family, my condolences for your lost of your wonderful brother, uncle & family member. My prayers & heart felt sympathy is with all of your family. I can remember the days & years back when I lived directly across the street from you in Washington Park on Rex Avenue. I so fondly remember your mother & father. I also remember “Meathead” John always telling us to get out the street play kickball. He always laughed & showed those dimples when he was correcting us. As I grew old, Meathead and I would referee basketball together. He was always a sweetheart & gentle soul to me. Please know that “Meathead” is in a better place now still smiling with those cute dimples. May Our Lord, Jesus Christ bless each of you. (The Jiggetts & Rock Family)🙏
