Joseph Donald Phillips, 75, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 20, 2019. He is survived by his wife of Aletta of 55 years; sons, Joseph (Angela), Steven (Sharon); daughters, Patti (Chris) and Susan; 9 grandchildren, Corey Phillips, Justin Phillips, David Hollis, Billy Constable, Brittany Fox, Michael King, Joshua Hollis, Jeremy King, Emily Constable; 3 great grandchildren, Kyle Phillips, Brooklyn Phillips, Easton Fox; sisters, Marion Taft, Elaine McGarvey, and Sandra Nowicki (Bruno); and many beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, April 25 at Kingsland Baptist Church, 8801 Perrymont Road, Richmond, VA 23237.
Joe was a good friend and a good man. He loved to eat and my wife and I ate many meals with Joe and Littie at capt Toms. The food was good and the conversation was always better. Joe will always be in my familys memory for the remander of our lives.

Joe was a great friend & neighbor to us. Always ready with a quick quip or good story.
We always enjoyed going out for bbq or seafood with him & Lettie & will never go to the Sutton St beach
access in Kill Devil Hill without thinking of fun times with them there.
Joe will truly be missed by all who knew him.
