Cuseo, Josephine Theresa, “Josie”, 89, of North Chesterfield, VA died peacefully on March 20, 2020, surrounded by her grandchildren, Matthieu Ott and Gabrielle Ott, her son-in-law, Thierry Ott and her daughter, Lisa Cuseo-Ott.

Her sister, Nancy Cuseo, followed her in death on March 22, 2020. She has two living brothers, Charles Christoforo of North Haven, CT and Anthony Christoforo of Northford, CT. She was a devoted mother to her only child, Dr. Lisa Cuseo-Ott and held many interesting full and part-time jobs over her lifetime, most recently in the food industry. She was a great cook and baker, who shared many of her Italian specialties and baked goods with friends and family. Many will remember Josie as having a very strong and engaging personality, and as someone who loved to talk with and feed all who entered her home. She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, where she will have a funeral mass to be announced at a later time.
In honor of her commitment to feeding others, donations can be made in her name to Feedmore at Feedmore.org.
My condolences to Lisa. No greater joy comes than to have your loving mother by your side for so long. Yet the day comes when that joy is interrupted and mere words cannot take away the pain you are feeling. I hope that amidst your tears you can find comfort in each other. Remember, your love will keep her alive in your heart just as God’s love is proved by His memory of her in every detail. He will not forget your beloved mother, nor the promises He holds out to all.— John 5:28, 29, Revelation 21:4; Psalm 37:11, 29
Dear Lisa and family, I am so sorry to hear about Aunt Josie. I remember hanging out with her & Nancy, who was like a Mom to me, back in a day that feels like it was yesterday. It was very entertaining to say the least. And now they’re both gone just a couple of days apart. It’s so sad and hard to believe….hugs and kisses, Anissa
