Joshua Shane Goodman
February 1, 1991 – February 24, 2023
Joshua Shane Goodman, 32, a talented and charismatic man with his life ahead of him, was taken too soon on Friday, February 24, 2023.
Josh is survived by his parents, Joseph and Joanne Goodman; sisters Janey Wellons (Justin) and Julia Goode (Elijah); grandmother Diane Wallace; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Josh was a loving father to his son, Levi.
Josh towered over many as he stood 6’7”. You only had to look up to see his beautiful blue eyes and sheepish grin. He had a very good and forgiving heart. Josh was a trusting young man that never judged other people. He was a very talented and creative individual who loved drawing and tattooing. He was a gifted welder. As a teen, he loved skateboarding, dirt bike riding, and racing with his Dad. The higher the jump, the better the challenge.
Josh truly loved his family and his passing has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled.
The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 5 at Affinity Funeral Service 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294. A service will follow at 3 p.m.

Sending my love and hugs during your family’s loss!!
I absolutely loved teaching Josh when he was in 5th grade and it brought me tremendous joy to see all the hard work he did to elevate his station in his young life. My prayers and condolences are with you all. 🤟🏻
Aside from your Family I was your biggest cheerleader. I wanted you to make it and do great things as you achieved peace, got clarity and gained a lasting sobriety. Now, you have the ultimate peace, may God keep you. We will keep your memory for L.
Always love you, “Mama Spence”
The whole Josh leaves is a big one. Our community is grieving greatly. Josh was a gift to all he encountered. A tender soul with such a big heart. He will be dearly missed.
As your 3rd grade teacher I saw a gentle person who loved to write-with skill and thought. Josh, with your big smile and quiet sincerity, you touched many lives, mine included.
Sending positive wishes for peace to the Goodman family.
