Karen Harris, also fondly known as DolphynLady and Grandma, of Richmond, VA (by way of Far Rockaway, NY), passed peacefully at age 63, surrounded by family on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Chippenham Hospital.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Alexander Lawrence Sr.; and children Jordan, Melinda, Alexandria, Jasmine, Brittany, and Courtney;  11 grandchildren; and numerous close friends of the family.

Throughout her life, Karen was a beacon of love and laughter. She was very much rooted in her family and ensured her love radiated through and through. She welcomed various friends, relationships, and even pets throughout her life with open arms, and very seldomly turned them away. She was a woman who thoroughly enjoyed belting out Mariah Carey every chance she got, a good cup of coffee was always the start of her day, and watching over her children and grandchildren with love and admiration seemed to be her calling. She has touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank Chippenham Hospital staff, Dr. Kilbourne, and nurses Takel and Tyler of the Coronary Care Unit, for their kindness during her last moments, and for ensuring her family was able to be beside her every step of the way.
