January 14, 1952 – September 13, 2023
Kayron Merritt White, 71, of Ashland, VA peacefully transitioned from this world on September 13, 2023, with her daughters and sister by her side.
Kayron was born January 14, 1952, in Richmond, VA to the late William Blaine Merritt and Dorothy Hale Merritt. She is preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Steven M. White.
Kayron is survived by her two daughters, Jenny Wright (Dennis) and Stephanie Fritts; six grandchildren, Annie, Sean, and Brandon Wright, as well as Zoe, Gracie, and Alex Fritts; and one sister, Faye Tignor (Bubba). Also left to mourn are her two aunts, June Hale and Ann Burke; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Kayron was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family more than anything. She enjoyed watching tennis, and NASCAR (Jeff Gordon was her favorite) as well as cutting her own grass every Summer. Kayron was also famous for her deviled eggs and corn pudding every Christmas and Thanksgiving. She was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School in Ashland, VA, and retired after 20 years of dedicated service to the State of Virginia, where she made numerous lifelong friends.
the family will receive friends and family for visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, with services following at 3 p.m., at Affinity Funeral Service, 8074 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, VA, 23111.

My name is Major Brown. I had the honor of working with Kayron before I retired as supervisor Jan. 1, 2009. My heart goes out to her family for their lost. She was a great person and will be remembered with much respect. May she rest in peace and the good Lord comfort each of you.
