Kelvin E. Nicholas
Mar. 08, 1957 – Jan. 07, 2022
NICHOLAS, Kelvin (Kelly) Eddy, 64, of Richmond, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022. Kelly is survived by his devoted sister, Nancy Maynard; nieces, Lori Maynard (Ryan) and Pamela Maynard; nephew, Anthony Maynard; eight great nieces; three great nephews; and his loyal companion, Julia Nicholas. He also leaves behind a host of friends, softball and golfing buddies, business associates, and clients. Kelly took great pride in the HVAC business he built from the ground up, Quality Assured Mechanical, and treasured the relationships he had with those he served. He was an avid sportsman, playing baseball in his youth and changing over to golf and softball as a young man. His love of sports was sparked by many trips to the ballpark with his dad in his youth. He won many awards, even a trip to Colorado Springs in the Nationals. Kelly’s gregarious personality and robust voice commanded your attention when he arrived, which we will all certainly miss. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, 1:00pm, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Lane, Richmond, Virginia 23222. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kelly’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
“Let love and kindness be in all that you do.” 1 Corinthians 16:14
Certainly is missed
Uncle Kelly, I cannot believe you are gone. I am devastated, my heart is crushed and not one day goes by that I’m not crying. My heart hurts so much. I miss cooking breakfast for you, making your favorite foods. I miss our talks about family and growing up. It hurts so much that I can’t pick up the phone to call you or see you calling me. I’ve saved all of your messages. I’d give anything to have you still here with us. You were always so strong. We all miss you so much. We all love you so much. My heart is completely broken.
Kelly played such a large part of my earliest days in Richmond. He and Julia were so much apart of our lives way back when. I will always remember his laughter and fun loving nature. All those softball games! I know he and Paul are picking up teams! My condolences to Kelly’s family and friends, he will surely be missed.
He was the best man I had ever gotten the chance to know. He touched so many hearts with his kind and helpful heart. We will miss him so much! I love you Kelly ! You did so much for me and taught me so much! I hope I can make you proud ! Rest easy friend until we meet again
RIP Kelly. Good friend and teammate.
I met Kelly through a friend and we figured out we were related. Right away I noticed his magnetic engaging personality. He installed my first Heat pump 4 years ago and when it needed service I called him. He was in the hospital with a life threatening illness and still made sure I got up and running. When it was time for replacement on my second unit I didn’t even need to look elsewhere. I’m so glad I was able to see him and talk to him recently. The man showed up using a walker to make sure my job got done right. He will be missed in many ways. God bless my friend.
Kelly was never too busy to give words of wisdom, He was a leader and he always knew the correct thing to say. An encouraging word from Kelly meant something. He will be missed by many.
Rest easy my friend.

Until we all meet again
You will be missed dearly
Kelly
I remember meeting you with your north side buddies at Belmont Park GC when I worked there in the mid 80’s only dude I know that could hit the Pod (must google) . Then got to know you through the Fan softball league! Throwing the quick pitch as the batter stepped in! with that smirk on your face! What a competitor ! I want to thank you again for taking care of our heating and ac needs. Kelly you were always so kind to tell Molly what great coffee she served! He never turned down a cup when he was at the house. Thanks for being a good friend and keeping us warm in cool in all of the 4 seasons! RIP Kelly
We knew Kelly for over 30 years. Kelly was a wonderful man. David did a lot of his side work. David and i both are truly devastated by Kelly’s death. We love him and will truly miss him.
Love, Cindy and David Moore
Ps. We are so sorry we were not at the memorial, we waited for dates and times and never got word as to when it was. It would’ve meant the world if we could’ve been there.
I still think about you a lot. I miss you so much. I wish I could have said goodbye to you. The packers are looking like crap this year, so you aren’t missing much with football. You were the reason I became a packers fan. Thanks for always being there for me when I needed you. I hope you are up in heaven living your best life. I hope I get to see you again someday. I miss you so much, you meant the world to me. I remember being so tiny and young and when you would come over to visit my dad I would run and jump into your arms. You and Julia were a staple of my childhood. I have so many memories with you in them. Rest Easy Uncle Kelly and until next time,
Love always Emma Reinhard
I just found out that you are gone. The Fan leagues Derby day event, Gary and I were told by a few of Kelly’s and our community friends. He was a sweetheart of a person and I adored him. Gary and I knew him to be an athlete to the fullest and we also were a part of the softball state competition and trip to Colorado> What a big part of our lives you were. you will be sorely missed! Julia what a loss to you I know, we miss you too! Ruth & Gary Vaughan
