Lara Frances Mays Davis, 47, passed on to her eternal home on July 29, 2020.
Lara was born in Australia on September 8, 1972 to Diana and Ray Mays. Lara resided in Chesterfield County, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her father, Ray Mays. She is survived by her mother, Diana Mays of Mesa, Arizona; one daughter, Abigail Lynn Davis, of Hopewell; two step-daughters, Desirea Happel Nichols of Arizona and Melinda Ashley Davis of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; three brothers, Danny Mays of Petersburg, Anthony Mays of Lynchburg, and Matt Mays of Arizona; one niece, Samantha Mays; and one very special and loyal friend, Darryl Jackson of Richmond. As well as many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Lara spent many years of her life doing short and long distance truck driving. She also worked as a window tinter. Lara loved music and had a zest for life. She had her own unique style and was a free spirit. She loved her daughters with all her heart. Lara loved all animals but especially her dogs, Annie and Whiskey.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday, August 12 at Affinity Funeral Service Richmond Chapel, 2720 Enterprise Parkway, Richmond, VA 23294 with a service to follow at 7:30 pm.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, August 13 at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the SPCA in her memory.

May you Rest In Peace with with your soul up above shining down on Abby and all your friends and family who loved you so much. You are so remembered for your your strong will, pretty face n smile and heart as big as Mount Rushmore sometimes you act like a little girl in a grown persons body. I loved that about you. I’m glad I met you and lived thru the crazy Buzzov-en times together. I wouldn’t have changed a thing. ❤️🙏🏻
Hey mom, I really miss you but I know you are in a better place now. I pray for you every night and every morning. You probably don’t think so, but my dad and Sherrie miss you too. But like one of our favorite movies said “Life’s like a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get.” Well, I’m still waiting on that part of life. I love you mom.
