Lawrence Monroe Bradshaw

May 24, 1950-April 12, 2020

Lawrence M. Bradshaw, 69, of Chesterfield, VA passed away on 12 April 2020, in his family home.

Lawrence served in the US Army for 24 years and the US Corps of Engineers for 24 years. He finally retired after 48 years of service to his country. One of his favorite things to do was to entertain. He sang often and beautifully, often imitating almost exactly many of Dean Martin’s songs, earning him the nickname of “Dean”. He lived a full and most importantly, honorable life. Nothing was more important to him than his country and his family. After surviving the Vietnam War, Diabetes, and 5 heart attacks; God finally called him home, but not before he ensured that he had taught his son well enough to ensure that he would carry on the family’s legacy. He came from nothing and worked his way to a successful career and life, instilling the same fire and tenacity into all he came across. He was a loving husband, honored father, valued friend, and a true servant to his country.

Survivors include his wife, Hak N. Bradshaw, his son, Anthony D. Bradshaw, his adoptive son, Chan D. Kim, his adoptive daughter, Chae Y. Kim, his daughter-in-law, Kimberly Bradshaw and his granddaughters Brook-Lynn, Jasmine, and Emmalyn.

Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, A funeral may be held at a later date and time. A private wake shall be held in his residence. Interment will follow in Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia Court House, VA.
